Managing a team of Die Maintenance Technicians to plan, prepare and control jobs and the department workload, documenting work carried out and delivering a thorough handover to the next shift. Other duties include managing overtime, absence and holiday input, ensuring I have enough manpower for each shift to ensure both our own and the shop objectives are met. Developing and implementing a Tooling Management Database to manage all aspects of our die tooling in the department; from 3D Measurement Reports, Die Modification management, PPM records and die failure information. Development of training within the department on a range of machines; ensuring my technicians are trained to a high standard and can carry out their job to the best of their ability. Working as part of a cross functional team; working alongside facility maintenance, engineering and the production department to work towards a common goal.

This includes both Core Making Die, Casting Die and Press Tooling. Also manufacture all spares in house on a range of manual and CNC machines. Competent CADCAM system operator (Delcam PowerSHAPE and Delcam PowerMILL) to make design changes to tooling before actually carrying out modifications. Competent 3D CMM operator used to measure parts before and after modification. Also carry out PPM's and fault finding on die tooling in workshop and breakdown conditions.
