Served as a Technical Lead on the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Team. Focused on carefully modernizing the portfolio of applications in a modular fashion while maintaining strict service levels and program deadlines. Oversaw the development of full stack software applications and leading a team of 8 software developers and QA analysts.

Managed a global team of 10-12 developers across several application areas: TIAA Today (real time metrics), Digital Metrics (digital analytics), Infrastructure, and Big Data (Hadoop). The team employed Agile Methodologies to ensure frequent and timely releases.Led the development team through software and infrastructure upgrades (i.e. Weblogic -> Tomcat, upgrade application to Java 8, move to Oracle Exadata appliance, Spring upgrades, application migrations to AWS, Cloudera upgrades).Managed software releases and ensured code and Quality Assurance tasks were completed on time, while proactively providing clear communication to business partners. Ensured proper SDLC procedures were followed.Implemented a Single Sign On (SSO) solution for the application for users to seamlessly log in. It was the first SSO implementation in a TIAA cloud-based (AWS) application.Evaluated and reviewed employees. Defined measurable and actionable goals to help keep them focused on their career growth as well as the needs of the firm.Hired and managed full-time employees and contractors to fill vacant positions on the development team. Worked with staffing and vendors to ensure quality candidates were interviewed – all within budget constraints.Developed a a plan and transitioned the development team from Subversion to Git version control systems leveraging Jenkins pipelines.Implemented changes necessary to integrate metrics dashboards with the newly installed cloud-based Genesys call center software, replacing the legacy “on-prem” version of Genesys. The solution was designed to be flexible to handle the multi-month transition from the on-prem version to the cloud.Led the effort to convert several Dynatrace-based dashboards and data feeds to a newer version of their API. The new design allowed for greater flexibility while keeping existing dashboards functional

Served as a Technical Lead for the TIAA Today Dashboard team. TIAA Today is an application that displays real-time performance and business metrics on the desktop and on Mac mini-powered kiosks displayed throughout the organization. Worked on numerous data feeds necessary power the TIAA Today dashboards, including feeds to track web performance data via a proprietary implementation of Boomerang to measure real user performance and “failed customer experiences” (FCEs).Worked on internal iOS applications to display institutional/client metrics for sales purposes.Worked on integrating the application with Active Directory and other enterprise systems.Was one of the primary architects of THOR (TIAA Hyperdata Online Repository) – a custom APM solution which has garnered several patents. THOR allows TIAA to get more insight on performance metrics by aggregating raw performance counts with real participant data.

Served as a Senior Software Engineer for the IT department of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).Led the development team in an effort to create the first mobile application from the AAMC.Led the technical implementation of the Medloans® Loan Organizer and Medloans® Calculator. The Loan Organizer and Calculator are financial aid tools for medical students built from the ground up using Java/Spring and JavaScript frameworks. Worked directly with Business Partners to ensure that all requirements were being met. The application is still in production (as of June 2022) as a valuable resource for financial information for medical students worldwide.

Served as a Technical Product Manager for Product Development. Developed detailed functional requirements specification documents for new technical product features for upcoming releases of the Blackboard software suite of products. Worked closely with clients and technical staff to ensure requirements were being met.

Served as a Lead Software Engineer for the implementation of the Linked Ops Intel Europe (LOCE) software, used by NATO military personnel worldwide.
