About Tom Garrett

60 years ago my grandfather (Mickey Garrett) moved from NYC to Los Angeles – this was a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit – as it was a bold move to leave an executive-level job at a Madison Ave advertising agency to start his own firm(Garrett Associates) three thousand miles from home. After graduating from UCLA in December 2006 the job market was tight, so I began working at Garrett Associates on a temporary basis. I was happy to have a job, but the company’s revenue was down 90% from its peak in 1993.As I spent more in the company and learned about our history and stellar reputation, I became more interested and excited to bring the company back to life.We have heeded much of Mickey’s wisdom and also learned new processes and strategies to go beyond where Mickey brought the company. It has been hard, but in 2019 we were very happy and proud to have passed our old company record for revenue and employee count.
