I joined the Bureau to modernise a meta-data database, but rapidly pivoted to a Dev-Ops role supporting a major internal observation monitoring system. My team introduced virtualisation for Oracle on VMWare and developed processes for deploying and replicating systems across sites to ensure business continuity.Restructuring pushed me into plain Linux administration, with a few months attached to a team building in AWS with Terraform.

I Studied Science Communication (Outreach) at the Australian National Centre for Public Awareness of Science and Questacon. I spent 14 weeks touring Australia as part of the Questacon Science Circus, presenting shows developed at Questacon as part of my degree. The Circus brought science engagement to regional and rural Australia through shows at schools and pop-up science centres; capability building workshops; and hands-on public exhibits.
