Working at the Centre for Research on the Economics of Ageing has allowed me to engage in the primary research data collection via interactions with the participants either through face-to-face or via calls.This was an ongoing stint throughout my undergraduate years where I was exposed to the research side of academics. The following is a comprehensive list of the tasks I was involved in:1. Conducted primary research among a group of survey respondents2. As a Business Development Associate under Plano, I was given the valuable opportunity to understand and learn more about the Ophthalmology Industry in Singapore. The following is a list of tasks and projects I was involved in during my stint with Plano:1. Reached out to several optometry partners, out of which nine new partnerships were successfully secured for Plano2. Conducted an extensive market research analysis on competitors in Singapore and other markets such as Australia, India etc.3. Compared and analysed premium features, product offerings, customer acquisition methods of key competitors in several markets (Belgium, US, UK), compared them with Plano and proposed recommendations to the Executive Management Team4. Through the Health Economics Module in SMU, my team and I analysed the economics behind the Oncology scene in Singapore. We performed an extensive quantitative analysis and proposed policy recommendations to Sanofi.

Novartis comprises of several business divisions which are mainly the Transplant, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, General Practitioners and Neurology divisions. I was a Marketing intern under the Transplant division where I supported the team in several business planning and strategic decision making processes. As an Intern, I was given the valuable opportunity to venture out into other aspects of the business in addition to Marketing. The following is a comprehensive list of the tasks and projects I was involved in during my six month stint at Novartis: 1. Analysed scientific papers and trials and summarised this information into different forms of Detailed Aids (softcopy, hardcopy) for the Sales Representatives to utilize during their sales pitches with the company's business partners 2. Consolidation of data among different internal data sources using several Excel techniques such as Pivot Table etc.3. Derived key business insights from the analysis performed and presented findings to the Managerial team. This extensive analysis was aimed to support strategic business decisions taken by the team.4. Conducted a training session on key Excel techniques used in my analysis for Team Managers5. Developed a template tool that can be used by other Team Managers to track their sales and develop insights from their sales figures6. Interacted with doctors on the field and gained their opinions on key business initiatives by the company
