Current• To act as the principal lead across the organisation for Health & Safety as defined by the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, & other associated legislation & corresponding regional legislation, ensuring innovative & compliant resolutions. • Use current Health & Safety guidance when working with the CEO & SMT to ensure that the organisation complies with statutory obligations, legislation, & best practice. • To work alongside the SMT & lead on the development, implementation, & on-going review, of Health & Safety Policies. • Develop & lead the Health & Safety Management System & set the strategic framework for the management of Health & Safety standards, engaging with senior managers, & Regional Health & Safety Leads across the Autism Initiatives Group, to ensure that these standards are understood & embedded. • Lead on resolving any potential non-compliance or legal matters pertaining to HSE, making recommendations, propose options & develop implementation plans to ensure that the organisation remains compliant. • Keep up to date & act as a gate keeper in regards to HSE legislation & best practice developments relevant to the organisation, ensuring that policies, procedures, & processes are appropriately updated & that the Group remains compliant with legislative changes. • Line manage the Regional Health & Safety Leads in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man & England, who make up the Health & Safety Team. • Work closely with Regional Directors & Senior Management Team in England to create a positive Health & Safety culture, with clearly defined roles & responsibilities for Health & Safety, enabling all parties to fulfil their Health & Safety responsibilities. • To work collaboratively with colleagues to understand the people we support, so that our approach to managing risk is in the context of differences associated with autism, individual needs, & Quality of life
