My job consisted of handling 50-80 incoming calls per day for a wide variety of needs at SCH's contact center, the majority of which consisted of scheduling clinic appointments for approximately 40 unique medical specialties. I also served as the cardiology scheduling subject matter expert and point of contact for our clinic partners and led numerous wide-reaching process improvement initiatives. Some of these include:- Spearheaded a project to reduce and organize a high volume of patient scheduling orders across approximately 20 medical specialties; collaborated with clinicians and administrators to establish new order entry processes thereby reducing scheduling output by 50-75% - Developed initiatives to tighten partnership between the scheduling center and cardiology clinician teams, resulting in deeper mutual understanding of each other’s work, streamlined workflows and a dramatic increase in scheduling completion and accuracy rates. I subsequently replicated and led these initiatives in two other specialty clinics as a result of its success in cardiology. - Advocated on behalf of patients and families by working directly with clinic staff to identify alternative scheduling solutions and ensure medically appropriate scheduling timeframes
