Strategy Director
CurrentSupporting community-based fire adaptation and strategic initiatives as part of a multi-organizational team dedicated to supporting wildfire resilience at the community level. Leveraging over a decade of work in community disaster response and recovery to support network members in defining, envisioning, and building the fire future they want. This includes managing data collection and analysis to identify key needs and product creation of toolkits, trainings, and other content to meet those needs; as well as building data pipelines and reporting systems for monitoring, learning, and evaluation and turning data analysis into strategic planning for network operations.Tiernan’s past work includes co-founding a nonprofit for local flood relief and recovery, designing and managing community resilience programs for multi-stakeholder coalitions, and developing community engagement plans and programs for the American Meteorological Society. She is passionate about supporting systems and processes that are people-first and tailored to local culture and needs. Tiernan holds a Master’s of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, as well as an MA in Classical Languages from UC Berkeley. When not working she spends her time trail running with her dog, weaving a growing mountain of textiles, and taking pictures of the stars at sunrise. Working as a netweaver, advisor and coach to network members and providing one-on-one capacity building support, partnership development, coaching, group facilitation, hosting virtual learning series, and participating in, designing, and leading in-person learning events.
