I have 20 year of experience in education, specifically in under served communities. I founded and grew an elementary school to eventually serve grades Pre-K3 to 4th grade, During my tenure, we were recognized by the State of Texas as a School of Distinction for STAAR scores. After 7 years of service, I was sought out to become the principal of KIPP Spirit College Prep, which at the time was a "turn-around" school. Within two years we have made great strides and continue to grow into the school that KIPP Spirit College Prep was designed to be. My experience includes, school systems and structure planning and professional development. School-wide data analysis and action planning. Instructional coaching and teacher development. Teacher recruitment and retention. Curriculum analysis and scope and sequence planning. Stakeholder management and coalition development. Although I have been a principal for 10 years, I am currently completing a Masters in School Administrations with a goal of completing a PhD.
