Appointed by the Florida Senate President and the Florida House Speaker to manage all operations of the Florida Historic Capitol Museum and its affiliated stakeholder organizations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: budget and staff management, governmental relations, curatorial and interpretive oversight, event/program planning and execution, management of facilities and building preservation projects, fundraising, and strategic planning.

An evolving and dynamic position that the Curator and Staff Director shaped to fulfill staffing gaps at the museum through several transitions. Projects were selected to play to my strengths and to respond to the Museum's immediate needs: the development and curation of exhibits; the expansion of the Museum's signature biennial Legislative Reunion event; public relations and fundraising campaigns; and the reorg of the stakeholder affiliate organizations.

Role and assignments increased in responsibility throughout my tenure. Served as the Research Assistant for the Faculty Director of the Historical Administration and Public History (HAPH) Program. Responsibilities included communications, design, and collections projects including a brochure and finding aid for the Brokaw-McDougall House; the newsletter for the HAPH program; and a presentation of career resources for beginning museum professionals.

Facilitated visitor interactions through interpretive tours

Supported the implementation of a website design project as part of the Introduction to Public History class at American University, then transitioned into a newly-created archival assistant position. Assisted the Archivist with key collections management projects including the cataloging and digitization of collections using PastPerfect museum software; the housing of new accessions and the preservation of the Society's holdings; and the transfer of the archives to a new facility.
