I was responsible for coordinating the recruitment, training and mutual aid operations for 97 fire departments and 6,000+ firefighters and first responders in our 1,200 sq. mi. county.This includes managing three live fire training facilities and supervision of almost 50 fire instructors in delivering more than 1,200 training events each year.My duties include grant writing, recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters; web, social media and communications management; graphics design, public information and emergency management command staff.We're proud of our successes in recruiting 500-600 new volunteers every year, bucking the national trend of a decline in volunteerism. While that success is not by chance given the combined efforts of our department and our local volunteer fire departments, we think it speaks most highly of our community that hundreds each year would raise their right hand and commit to "I will be the one to serve."

Trained and certified to facilitate the "7 Habits of Effective Firefighters" program as created by Franklin-Covey and adapted for the fire service through the efforts of the NYSAFC.

I spearheaded all recruitment and retention efforts statewide for the Firemen's Association of the State of New York.
