Responsible for managing a multi disciplined team from the formulation of the business case, marketing collateral, staff recruitment, systems design, through to operational readiness of the management centre in Atlanta, USA. This was achieved in 5 months. The service was launched in September 1996 and has two live customers and pre-sales proposal backlog of $1.3m. -

Responsible for leading a multi-disciplined team in the provision of a data network across seven European countries including driving all implementation activities to the project time-scales, budget, customer acceptance and migration of the customers existing network. Major challenges included the negotiation of facility leases at all major IBM headquarters across Europe, the build out of resilient hubs and negotiations with European PTT’s for the purchase of substantial bandwidth. This project was completed two months ahead of schedule and 15% below budget.

Project Manager, BT (British Telecom)Senior Manager for leading a project team managing the supply of a private X25 data network to ICI, comprising of sites in the UK, Europe, Japan, North America and Australia. The project provided X25 Telematics switches in 22 countries at a total contract value of £6M. Main customer interface for all commercial and technical aspects of the project with accountability for the delivery of the network and customer satisfaction. Main achievements included negotiating a new pricing structure, successfully winning a network design service, further expansion in Europe and the Rest of the World (Japan, Australia and South Africa), major software upgrade of the network and the negotiation a new third party support organisation in Japan which enabled further business to be won.

Main achievement was persuading AT&T, the supplier, to agree to joint testing of the software at the development stage resulting in reduced time for bringing the new service to market.
