I am the Technical Operations Reclamation Manager and Senior Reclamation Specialist for the Major Mines Office with the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation (EMLI). I have 20 years of experience in the field of natural resource management. I am a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) with the College of Applied Biology in British Columbia, and a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) with the British Columbia Institute of Agrology. I have a M.Sc. in Land Reclamation from the University of Alberta, with an emphasis on ecosystem restoration. My education and background in reclamation is complimented by my diverse inter-disciplinary skill set in ecology, vegetation, soils, wildlife, fisheries, and water quality. In my currently regulatory role, I am responsible for the management of the provincial mine Reclamation Team, and oversee the technical review of project applications and coordination with other technical disciplines. Responsibilities also include providing regulatory guidance, development of mine reclamation policy, Mines Act permitting, assessment of reclamation security, and regulatory compliance of mines throughout BC.
