Based in London, covering the Middle East and Levant, my primary focus was on incorporating 3 new country operations (part of the Noble acquisition) into Chevron systems and practices. This included auditing existing security operations, building out fledgling programs, and designing novel security systems at the design stage of new O&G operations. In addition I supported an active BD team operating through the region, looking at new projects and acquisitions.

Kazakhstan

Working with the local security team to deliver superior results and transform the security organization. In addition to acting as a trusted security advisor to Leadership on issues of geopolitical risk, also delivering three strands of transformative work:  Critical Asset Protection: Delivering a Multi-million dollar program of security enhancements across critical infrastructure, including state-of-the-art solutions to enable efficient security performance. Digitization: Integrating a team of developers with the physical security upgrade project to deliver agile solutions to solve typical security challenges, ranging from control room interfaces through to improved stock control and theft reduction. Corporate Investigations: Leading sensitive corporate investigations and working across multiple stakeholder interest groups to reorganize and optimize the investigative function.

Singapore

Based in Singapore with a regional remit covering the wider Asia Pacific region, I provided wide-ranging security support to three 'Downstream' businesses with a distributed footprint of industrial assets and offices. Full spectrum of security support, including physical security and risk assessment, crisis management and response, and corporate investigations.Notable crises included the Easter Day bombings in Sri Lanka, and the Hong Kong riots. I left this role as the Covid pandemic started.

San Ramon

Based at Chevron HQ in California, with a global remit, I developed and implemented a number of security programs and products. Most notably, I overhauled Chevron’s security risk assessment program, enabling a deeper understanding of security risk across the global portfolio, a digital tool for delivering this work, and an improved consultative methodology adopted by the global advisors.

Based in London, covering the wider Europe, Eurasia and Middle East region, I provided a spectrum of security support, including physical security and risk assessment, crisis management and response, and corporate investigations.Notable challenges and crises in this period included the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the expansion of ISIS from Syria through the region, and the collapse in the price of oil.

I managed the Southern Africa security consulting practice, delivering risk consultancy and security management to clients, enabling them to understand and mitigate risks facing their operations in Africa. This included the remote management of teams and individual consultants embedded with clients across the region.

7-year military career consisting of roles of progressive complexity and challenge. As an Intelligence Officer on operations in Afghanistan I delivered intelligence support to decision makers and front-line units by leading a multi-disciplinary team of intelligence specialists supporting combat and stabilization operations.  As a Combat Commander I led and managed a reconnaissance unit in the UK and on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Functions ranged from leading operations in hostile environments through to capacity building of indigenous forces.
