CurrentProvided support services and guidance for buying groups and other purchasing professionals including policy development, compliance, corporate responsibility, transactional services, information services, supplier diversity development and import/export activities.• Led departmental transformation from centralized to center-led model. Championed case for change, developed processes, procedures and tools enabling broader organization to efficiently procure certain goods and services. Created Purchasing Service Center for transactional services and expanded our Purchasing Card program. Outsourced lower value activities while improving service levels. Subsequent reorganization led to a 30%+ staff reduction.• Integrated purchasing functions of two acquired companies (John Middleton and U. S. Tobacco). Developed pre-closing engagement processes. Mapped work flows and procedures to drive synergy consistent with Altria processes. Improved relationships with key customer groups in manufacturing. Evaluated existing staff and retained 25%.• Revamped Altria’s supplier management infrastructure to strengthen supplier performance, compliance and risk management. Developed new procedures, tools and training for supplier managers throughout Altria. Restructured Altria’s strategic supplier designation criteria and responsibilities of their supplier managers.• Led Altria’s Supplier Diversity Development (SDD) program. Strengthened Altria’s internal champions network and expanded it into acquired companies. Consistently met diverse supplier utilization targets. Partnered with the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business to develop an Executive Leadership program for minority CEOs. Altria twice received the Corporation of the Year award from the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council during my tenure.• Frequent faculty member for new manager training and compliance training.
