The Operations Oversight Department Director is responsible for three Divisions of the Navy Crane Center. The Safety and Training Division that oversees safety of Weight Handling Operations at Navy Shore Activities around the world, inclusive of Crane Operations, rigging, maintenance and equipment/gear testing. The Compliance Division which accomplishes audits of Navy shore activities around the world having weight handling programs, Department Of Energy laboratories, and Private shipyards accomplishing Navy Nuclear work. The Navy Crane Center On Sight Representative Office Division which has site offices at each major Navy shore activity accomplishing Navy Nuclear Ship construction or repair.

The Lifting and Handling Department Director is responsible for the Operation, Rigging, Maintenance, Inspection, and testing associated with in excess of 400 cranes, inclusive of 18 Portal Cranes, 20 mobile cranes, Yard Derricks, and various Bridge, jib and wall cranes. The position is responsible for 625 personnel in various Divisions inclusive of Engineers, Inspectors, Quality Assurance personnel, mechanical, electrical, structural mechanics, divers, crane operators, and riggers.
