I was transferred to CLEAN from Paragon when CLEAN acquired Paragon in December 2015 and promoted to Head of Transport in early 2019. As Head of Transport, I directed operational plans, strategic goals, and projects as part of the Senior Operational Board which comprised myself, the 7 Site Directors, 2 Regional Operational Directors, and the other 4 Department Heads. In the last 12 months, I reduced the Fleet (~150 units of mixed vehicles) by 10% due to robust negotiations with the contract hire provider, and early disposal/hand back of older assets.Over the past 24 months, I led a team of 7 Transport Managers and raised the profile of the Transport team. I initiated a project which worked towards DVSA Earned Recognition, and tasked colleagues in continuous improvement and best practice, as well as researching new innovations. Under my leadership, the team reduced driver infringements to less than 1% over the past 12 months, with an end goal of zero infringements. I ensured that all Transport Managers, and Transport Supervisors attended Refresher training in the last 12 months to keep in line with CPC professional development criteria. In my training role I ensured that all company LGV drivers (150+) successfully completed the required 35 hours of training, prior to the September 2019 deadline, with 6 months to spare.

As Group Transport Manager of this commercial laundry, operating from four sites across the UK, I reported directly to the Operations Director, advised and assisted the Transport Managers at each site, and oversaw fleet compliance for the Group. I guided and assisted site General Managers and Transport Managers ensuring they adhered to company procedures and followed necessary legislation. I conducted audits, managed the Tachograph Analysis system, sourced and ordered commercial vehicles as required. I carried out Driver Training, Driver CPC training and Driver Assessments, assisted with Transport Manager and Driver recruitment and managed the KPI scheme of the maintenance contractor. Attending Operational Board meetings, I assisted operationally in Middle East operations for the company in Abu Dhabi and was Transport Procedures Champion. Key achievements in this role were:• Reduction in driver infringements throughout the Group to below 2%.• Creation and implementation of formalised driver training (I established a Driver Academy).• Improvement of vehicle body specification (addition of safety features/standardised design)• Development of strong Transport management team, driving innovation and cost savings.• Key Manager involved in the company’s commitments to the 2012 London Olympics.• Part of the Project Team setting up, and then managing, an out base for packing and distribution.

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse and transport operation for ~ 60 people and a fleet of 40 trucks, I deputised for the Managing Director in his absence. Working within a customer focused and highly competitive market-led operation where customer satisfaction is paramount, I ensured first class communications and on time delivery. I ensured competitive pricing of transport quotations with a view to maximising company profitability and made full use of inventory control within the warehouses to maximise space. I maintained in-house quality procedures relating to the controlled unloading and loading of vehicles. Gained some sales experience in promoting a range of light commercial vehicles in the Gloucestershire area, combined with experience of purchasing capital equipment, budgetary control and purchasing specifications.
