Timothy D. Browne is ECRI Institute’s Director of PriceGuide and has 26+ years of dedicated service to the non-profit organization. Mr. Browne developed and directs the PriceGuide, CrossCHEQ and TruVu for Supplies advisory services, which assist hospitals and health care systems with the procurement of medical/surgical supplies and implants. He has also played a critical role in the development of ECRI Institute’s recently released ValuVu offering, a single source workflow management system that streamlines the analysis of new product requests, conversions and acquisitions. Mr. Browne develops and fosters relationships with hospital administrators and clinicians and provides solutions for spend analytics, comparative analytics and the identification of functionally equivalent products. Working closely with the sales team, Mr. Browne has helped expand the ECRI Institute client base by developing innovative new revenue streams for the PriceGuide service with providers, group purchasing organizations, payers, government agencies, ministries of health, and technology and software vendors.Mr. Browne directs the development of valuable information systems, including the PriceGuide database, branded as the industry’s first, largest and most comprehensive database that provides benchmarking resources on over 2.2M medical/surgical supplies and implants and guidance on the identification of functionally equivalent products to over 2,200 facilities worldwide. He oversees a rapidly growing team of 30+ analysts that develop custom analyses and strategies that allow hospitals to better position themselves with price negotiations, standardization/conversion initiatives and navigating alerts, out of stock and new product requests. Mr. Browne instructs, gives presentations and has written white papers for hospitals and industry groups around the world on the use of ECRI Institutes decision-support services and best practices in supply chain and value analysis.
