I chose my undergraduate major, Industrial and Systems Engineering because of my desire to bring computers and people together through technologies like robotics. For my undergraduate senior project our team built a custom Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) which utilized a machine level programming language that I used to write all the software for the AGV. In my graduate research, which was funded by a grant from the U.S. government to improve how "combat rations" are made, I modeled a software solution that could mange the entire food manufacturing process. Transitioning to my professional career at Merck & Co. I spearheaded efficiency-enhancing programs, introducing pioneering web based self-service purchase ordering and expense reporting solutions. Next steps in my career focused on creating and managing supply chain solutions for better planning and execution. This eventually led to key roles in MilliporeSigma partnering with top senior business executives on technology and managing large global ERP transformation programs.
