I grew up playing travel youth hockey in Michigan. As a Bantam player our team played out of Lansing, Michigan and won the National Championship in 1985. After that season I went on to play Prep School hockey at Cranbrook for 1 year and Tabor Academy for 3 years. At Tabor our team won the New England Prep School Championship in 1988. While at Tabor I was drafted in the 7th round of the 1988 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadians. After Tabor, I went on to play at Brown University for 4 seasons. I then signed with Montreal halfway through his senior year and played 6 seasons in the AHL, IHL, ECHL and briefly in Europe. After hockey, I began a career in business as a trader at various hedge funds from 2000 to 2017. My coaching career started in Tampa, Florida after he began his career in the financial world. While in Tampa i met Nigel Kirwan, an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning, who got me involved with a local youth hockey travel organization. After coaching in Tampa for 3 years, I moved around for my trading job and then took up coaching again in Princeton, NJ. After a few years of coaching Mites and helping with other areas of need in the rink, I took over the Director of Hockey and GM of the NJ Stars travel organization out of ProSkate. I now work full time with hockey and growing the sport in the central New Jersey area. In 2017 I also took on the position as Head Coach of the Princeton High School Boys Varsity Hockey team.I founded and started Hard Edge Hockey while in Princeton. The company focuses on clinics and skills sessions throughout the year while also developing hockey camps in the summer. Hard Edge Hockey also started a program in 2019 that hosted a team from China, The Beijing Black Amour Hockey Club, for 10 days. The Chinese team will come again in 2020 and I am hoping to take a team over there in the future.
