As general manager, alongside the Head of Nursing; supporting the Clinical Director delivering we were jointly accountable for the effective clinical (including Governance), Health and Saftey, human resources, operation delivery, delivery of patient care objectives and financial performance of the General Surgery and Cancer Care Group (Annual budget £56m and FML 550).This role included being responsible for ensuring both national (including Cancer, targets) and local access targets were achieved; along with ensuring all aspects of people, performance and financial objectives were delivered in line with the Care Group and Trusts annual business plan.I was directly responsible for:• Responsible for Cancer Delivery and performance against all standards (62 day, 14 day, 31 day)• For providing strong visible collective leadership accross the whole Care Group.• Ensuring that appropriate systems, teams, specialties and processes were in place to deliver both the National, Trust and Care Group objectives and drive forward the services.• Lead and being accountable the care group CIP programme• Lead the RTT recovery and deliver

Responsible for two care groups financial performance. Ensuring delivery of effective financial reporting and advice to the Divisional Board and Trust Board, as well as implementing consistent processes for forecasting supported by sensitivity analysis to model ranges of forecasts and the risk factors affecting those forecasts. Other key responsibilities:• Working within two care groups senior team to deliver the care groups strategies • Identification of financial risks, classified by probability, impact, ownership, effect on the organisation and mitigating measures. • SIP proposals and required to meet regularly with project leads across all Divisions as directed to ensure a robust monitoring. Deputise for the DHoFM in the collation and production of all savings related information.• Board reporting information, FIMS information and the collation of Trust wide forecast outturn, performance dashboard and reserves information.• Implementing financial models to support business planning and business case development.• Delivering effective reporting systems to Trust Board, Divisions, Wards and Specialties.• Responsible for the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial information to support the business making decision processes of the Trust. It is expected that the standards delivered will be measured against national standards and benchmarks and will deliver national best practice in all relevant areas• Day to day management of staff including recruitment, appraisals, disciplines and development.

Supporting the DGM (Divisional General Manager) and responsible for the PFES (£21million) division in for the overall financial management and its overall performance. Ensuring delivery of effective financial reporting and advice to the Divisional Board and Trust Board, as well as implementing consistent processes for forecasting supported by sensitivity analysis to model ranges of forecasts and the risk factors affecting those forecasts. Other key responsibilities:• Identification of current, emerging and anticipated financial risks, classified by probability, impact, ownership, effect on the organisation and mitigating measures.• Providing detailed costings of the SIP proposals and required to meet regularly with project leads across all Divisions as directed to ensure a robust monitoring. Deputise for the DHoFM in the collation and production of all savings related information, provide full financial support for the management of the SIFT and Peninsula Medical budgets • Board reporting information, FIMS information and the collation of Trust wide forecast outturn, performance dashboard and reserves information.• Tracking and validating all non pay related savings as the senior finance member of the Non Pay Delivery Action Group; liaising both local and regional procurement teams.
