Hello - I am a London based financial regulation lawyer with over 20 years of experience. I advise on UK and European financial services regulation and help clients to deal with the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). I am part of a great team. I have a broad practice and am focussed on assisting UK and European fund managers; corporate finance firms; sponsors and nominated advisors; share and bond brokers; CFD firms; payment services firms; fintech firms; insurers and pension scheme operators. I am particularly occupied with corporate transactional work; funds formation advisory work; and advising on the FCA's and PRA's rules. A substantial amount of my practice includes European regulatory law: - MiFID 2- AIFMD (including funds marketing and pre-marketing advice);- Payment Services Directive 2- Market Abuse Directive and Regulation- Capital Requirements Directive and Regulation- the second Electronic Money Directive; - the impact of Brexit; and- the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and Environmental, Social and Governance regulatory requirements. I also have considerable experience with Enforcement investigations and proceedings and have successfully appeared before the Regulatory Decisions Committee and the Upper Tribunal. I regularly advise on market abuse and insider dealing issues and I have also represented listed companies who have been subject to FCA market investigations and AIM Regulation inquiries and have assisted clients when dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service. I am a member of several expert groups run by financial services bodies and participate in law reform debates. I have also contributed to a number of books and articles regarding financial regulation.
