This role involved working collaboratively with the entire NERA team to ensure the effective delivery of our $40m project portfolio. Key responsibilities include:• Oversight of 55+ projects (including research, technical, capability programs) and project lead for 25% of NERA’s project portfolio;• Identifying opportunities for and promoting collaboration in the energy resources sector, including in key areas of decarbonisation, technology development and digitisation;• Promoting project outcomes that are practical, adoptable and can be commercialised and reporting these to the NERA board, industry stakeholders and federal government;• Providing leadership in Intellectual Property (IP) adoption and commercialisation from projects; • Manage key stakeholder relationships, both domestically and internationally; and• Supporting the establishment of a national coordinating body for the emerging offshore wind industry by bringing together a range of organisations from across the sector, including governments, industry, regulators, supply chains, unions, and the scientific community.
• Worked across multiple jurisdictions (WA, SA and NT) to support both exploration activities and the approval of key projects. Key duties and achievements while working in this role included:• Co-managed the environmental approval of Yeelirrie uranium project. This work included regulator engagement, the development of strategies to mitigate key environmental issues (DRF & Subterranean Fauna) & managing consultants.• Providing professional advice and support to the environmental approval of the Kintyre project;• Registered RSO for Cameco Australia (WA and NT). • Obtained, implemented and reported against environmental and radiation approvals for exploration programs in WA, SA and the NT, including reporting to the WA Mining Rehabilitation Fund;• Management of environmental contractors and budgets;• Undertaking onsite baseline environmental monitoring;• Providing training to ensure improvement in environmental performance;• Guiding regulators during the auditing of the NT Radiation Management Plan; • Company representative for several working groups (Radiation Management Network, Radiation Protection Working Group and Throssell Coordinating Group); and• Successful development and implementation of ISO14001 environmental management system.
