Served on the advisory council for the North Carolina SARA portal agency. Provided assistance and advice to the accreditation and state authorization officers at the 17 campuses in the university system.Served as the university’s liaison to the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB).

Assisted the National Commission for the Fight Against Genocide to plan and implement the national commemoration program marking the 20th anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda; provided expert advice on post-genocide justice issues, media reforms, and building capacity in the research and higher education sectors.
