Archaeologist / Field Director

Responsibilities: • Project Management• Scope/Schedule/Deliverable management and oversight• Budget tracking• Conduct all levels of reconnaissance and intensive field survey, site testing, and data recoveries• Supervise field personnel incorporating fieldwork findings into cultural resources assessments and technical reports• NRHP evaluations, archaeological site assessments, historic building inventories• Construction monitoring and geoarchaeological trenching• Assistant curator of artifact collections following federal guidelines• Lithic analysis and historic artifact identification and analysis• Archival research, ethnographic context statements, and environmental context statements• Develop work plans, unanticipated discovery plans, construction monitoring plans• Coordination with key clients, Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, Oregon Heritage/ SHPO, USACE- Seattle District regulatory division, WSDOT cultural resources department, King County Historic Preservation Office, and tribal governments• Prepare proposals for government agencies and private companies and monitor requests for proposals/qualifications• Manage projects from start to finish, assigning tasks, monitoring budgets, coordinating with clients, obtaining excavation permits, and navigating federal, state, and local legal requirements.
