Since joining Covidien (then Tyco, later restructured & rebranded) as a senior analyst-programmer with the planning team I have:Controlled the successful upgrade of the i2 planning system and interfaces to v.4.2.2.Set up CRP (Continuous Replenishment Planning) processes between the US and Europe, between Europe and Australia, Singapore and Japan. These projects have all required liaising with business and technical staff of all levels in the various countries.Controlled the i2 team's (4 + contractor) work commitments and schedule. Liaised with the business management in the defining of the work schedule and prioritisationTrained three new staff members in the i2 and associated systems.Converted the i2 planning system interfaces to work on a variety of units of measure - essential for Tyco's multinational operations.Instituted comprehensive monitoring for overnight and other batch processes.Continuously improved the efficiency of the overnight process so it can now handle double the data it was handling originally in a shorter overnight timeslotCreated, then fully automated a product hierarchy rebuild routine (writing all programs in RPG4). Created an automated Distribution Orders system (large multi-screen application written in RPG3/4, later modifications in ILE & free format).Worked closely with superusers on a wide variety of enhancements from concept to production. Short-term contract involving analysis, design and programming work as required in support of their insurance systems. AS/400, RPG & CL.

PMSC (later renamed MYND and subsequently bought by CSC) are a US-based multinational software supplier to the insurance industry. Originally, I joined them as an analyst-programmer before moving to the business analysis side. Worked on site for various clients, in the UK and abroad on placements of several months at a time. Insure/90; AS400; RPG, CL, screens & reporting.Worked through all stages of the project life cycle from the initial feasibility study through to final delivery. Produced business and technical specifications, oversaw development and testing and delivered projects to clients.Worked with accountants to resolve differences between accounts and insurance systems to auditors' satisfaction for two clients.Used demonstrations and client workshops in analysis and design stages, and in client training. Produced documentation: gap analysis, requirements analysis, user & technical specifications.Was involved in training junior staff in programming and testing.

Worked mainly on in house systems: vehicle database, vehicle maintenance control, distribution and billing; with some work on JBA ledgers. This involved both enhancements (full development life cycle) and maintenance, with significant user contact and some user training. AS/400; RPG, CL & screens.

Worked mainly on their proprietary clothing system including sales order processing, MRP and inventory control; this was a customer-facing role. AS/400 & S/36, RPG, CL/OCL, screens & reports.
