Cherne Contracting Corporation 1986 – 2013Positions (in order most recent to date of hire) Assistant Manager of Estimating, Project Director, Project Engineer, Electrical Department Manager, Lead Superintendent, Superintendent, Turn Around Lead E&I, Constructability Coordinator, Lead Electrical Field Engineer, Field Engineer. Responsibilities in the corporate office, managing estimates and bid proposals, contract negotiations with clients, implementation and monitoring of project controls, scheduling and engineering systems, monitoring of project budget, job cost projections, solicitation, award and administration of subcontracts, coordination of material procurement activities, issuance of quality control procedures, document control and coordination of constructability programs. Assigned full time to Cherne project sites from 1986 - 2001 on petrochemical, pulp and paper and powerhouse projects. Since 2001 numerous short term assignments at various project sites for coordinating turn around and start up activities. Duties included directly supervising craft and staff, planning appropriate craft labor levels, planning and execution of construction activities, recruitment and training of staff, monitoring work progress and productivity, ensuring efficient use of materials and equipment, development and monitoring of project and 3-week look ahead schedules, resolution of problems encountered during construction, requisitioning, procurement and management of materials, quality control and document control.
