Heading up the O&M team in Japan, directly Responsible for the day-to-day commercial and technical aspects of the First Solar Energy Services (ES) business in Japan, working actively with the Senior Director ES(APAC) and assisting with the formation and execution of Energy Services business strategy for Japan.

Working for First Solar Australia: A leading global provider of comprehensive PV solar solutions, as the Technical Director. My responsibilities included the management of the engineering and technical aspects of commercial proposals from early stage origination through contract negotiation / execution and handover to First Solar’s EPC or Components groups. I was also responsible for the management of customer relationships with customer technical counterparts and I was also responsible for a team of local and international associates, and managing a number of internal technical functions including supply chain, engineering, and project development engineering. Core Responsibilities / Experience• Act as a key member of the transaction team, in concert with the commercial leads and legal counsel. • Manages work product development in response to customer requests for indicative pricing and more formal responses to customer RFP processes. - Work product includes technical portions of proposal development as well as driving technical conclusions and results by managing preparation of site layouts, plant performance estimates, plant capital and O&M cost estimates through internal sales support groups or external resources.• Participates in contract negotiation of product and system sales and manages schedule, scope and technical risk in the contract process in addition to system warranties and performance guarantees. • Liaise with external consultants to provide due diligence and red flag reports.• Responsible for technical aspects of contracts presented to the customer as part of the proposal. • Manage customer relationships with customer technical counterparts.• Engages in consultative sales process with customers and facilitates solution oriented dynamics to meet customer needs.• Engages assigned EPC project manager and solicits input to contract terms from the EPC PM as contract reaches maturity. • Prepare the EPC PM for contract turnover.

As the founder and CEO my responsibilities extended across the complete project lifecycle, including project finance and viability, design and installation of commercial, industrial and off-grid solar photovoltaic systems. Solosol also provide technical consultancy and due diligence services for PV systems, pre-execution and constructed, as well as Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services.

A subsidiary business to Solosol, SolarWarmAir specialised in the Supply and installation of SolarVenti solar dehumidifier and heating panels. As the Founder and CEO my responsibilities spanned the entire business, from lead and business development, through project finance and execution.

Heading up the IT department my responsibility included the strategic development of IS/IT within the Group, including the IS/IT strategy, financial planning, budget control, provide external consultancy to similar organisations, business continuity planning (disaster recovery), security, and staff management. Successful projects include the specifying, planning and implementation of the corporate asset management system. I maintained a good reputation for delivering projects within time and below budget, a rare achievement for an IT projects.
