I covered all Mets home games, some days carrying the full beat-writer's load. When the Mets were away, I wrote game previews remotely. I also contributed to Mets.com's coverage of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and the club's farm system.

In addition to contributing to the website's Red Sox farm system daily coverage and breaking news, I also wrote features on select affiliates and minor leaguers.

I managed a staff of about 40, scheduling the production crew and on-air talent, to facilitate production of the daily news show on butv10, the student-run television station at Boston University. Every morning, the crew produced four, one-minute news briefs on BU, national, international and sports news.I was particularly involved with that last one, the "Terrier SportsWire," to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our overage of BU athletics. I served as on-air talent weekly.

Aside from getting scores and highlights from Greater Boston's many high school athletic events on boston.com, I also contributed to the high school sports blog and on-site coverage from select game.I took a brief respite from my hawk duties while I was a full-time co-op with the Globe January-June 2013.

I covered scholastic sports in a region of about 40 high schools for the twice weekly "Globe South" regional section. I was responsible for two 800-word features per week, as well as maintaining rankings top-10 rankings - boys' and girls' basketball and hockey in the winter, then baseball/softball and lacrosse in the spring - and choosing players and games of the week.

I used "The Boston Hockey Blog" and @BOShockeyblog to supplement The Daily Free Press' coverage of the most notable athletic team at Boston University. The reporting included the usual - game previews, recaps, side bars and notebooks - as well as features and athlete Q&As while attending every game, home and away. I previously covered the BU field hockey, women's basketball and softball teams for the paper September 2010-May 2011.

I was second-in-command overseeing all operations for The Daily Free Press, the independent student newspaper at Boston University, as we sent the paper to press on Sunday through Wednesday nights. During nightly production, which usually lasted about 10 hours late into the night, I read and edited every article for grammar, style, structure and accuracy, as well as used Adobe InDesign to layout the pages.I also used Twitter and Facebook to publicize stories, managed/updated the website (WordPress) and sent out the daily newsletter.

In addition to nightly duties of editing every sports article and completing basic layout tasks on Adobe InDesign, I created a weekly story budget and stayed in touch with writers to ensure a smooth night. During this eight-month span, I also maintained my responsibilities as a staff writer.

I wrote for WEEI.com and its myriad blogs, including "Full Count," the home of the bulk of its Red Sox coverage. My contributions to Full Count included series and pitching matchup previews, radio interview-based news items and many posts from covering Red Sox home games: pregame notes, in-game recaps and side bars.In October, I covered home games during the Red Sox's World Series championship run, right through the clinching Game 6.

I was in essence the third sports writer of a local paper covering a region of 10-plus towns. Included in the breadth of coverage was high school tournament season, NECBL baseball and NEFL football.
