During the winter season i work at Glenshee ski centre as a ski patroller. I am responsible for checking all uplift and ski terrain in my area before the centre opens for the public, ensuring all safety signage/equipment is in place for the day. I am also responsible for the care and treatment of any ill or injured clients in my area including evacuation to the rescue centre. In the off season i travel to Australia and work as a full time patroller at Thredbo.

Currently working as a commercial Skipper involved with the AHEP at Nigg Bay completing Crew transfers, support work and Hydrographic Surveys

Responsible for delivery of OPITO approved courses including FRC Coxswain/Boatman, Offshore lifeboat coxswain and refresher as well as S.A.R Craft Operations training for the KNRM.

I am currently a retained firefighter with Scottish fire and rescue service, responsible for responding to incidents and contributing to reduction of incidents by carrying out Home fire safety visits to the public to give advice.

As skipper I was responsible for ensuring that the vessel is fit for sea as well as the safety of all passengers and crew on board. I ensure that a risk assessment has been carried out prior to launch, maintaining communications between VTS and the vessel we are on passage to, ensuring all operations on board are carried out according to safe working practices.

I worked within the maintenance department where I was responsible for the maintenance of the survival equipment and the general upkeep of the centre. I was also utilised as an assistant to the emergency response side of the training, assisting with setting up drills on the fire ground and testing the BA sets. I then moved on to do more instructing, I was signed off to assist in many of the survival drills including, sea survival, fire, skyscape, first aid and TEMPSC drills and lessons. After the opening of the Marine training centre i was tasked to assist in the development of OPITO courses including FRC Boatman/Coxswain.
