Holding a Masters degree in Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma, Tim has previously worked in fashion retail management and buying for a number of UK brands including Burton Menswear, Jaeger, Dash and Harrods. As an academic he is on the editorial panel of the Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is currently developing an Executive MBA in Fashion at the London College of Fashion. Over the last ten years he has pioneered developments in post-graduate fashion buying, luxury and pure online courses.Tim’s external work has included consultancy on trends in luxury brand management for a range of clients including Proctor & Gamble, Goldman Sachs, Tommy Hilfiger and Vogue.com. Since 2007 he has been a trustee for the Covent Garden Area Trust, which works in partnership with Liberty International plc to conserve the historic architecture, environment and special and unique qualities of the 97-acre Covent Garden area in London. Over the last five years Tim has worked as a freelance journalist for www.wgsn.com , for which he reviews the principal conferences on the business of luxury operated by the International Herald Tribune and Financial Times. Tim regularly comments on fashion business issues for global broadcast media, including the BBC and is co-author and editor of Mastering Fashion Buying and Merchandising (Palgrave), Mastering Fashion Marketing (Palgrave) and The Fashion Handbook (Routledge), which have recently been translated into Chinese and Russian.
