As both a partner in Astir and the Senior Web Developer, I worked with international, national and local clients, finding the appropriate solutions based on their needs and budgets. I had a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from technical to branding to business management.My primary responsibility was to take Photoshop and XD designs and turn them into responsive WordPress websites. Using HTML5, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, PHP and design frameworks like Bootstrap and TailwindCSS I created custom WordPress themes and plugins. Attention was paid to ease of site management, SEO and Google Pagespeed Insights. I built more than 60 websites, varying from very simple branding sites to WooCommerce sites with over $1.3M in annual sales to sites with very complex data needs and thousands of pages. Secondary technical responsibilities included server and MySQL database management using WHM, cPanel and phpMyAdmin. I managed domain registrations and DNS including Cloudflare. I managed email both through cPanel and Gmail Business Accounts.I worked on branding projects, facilitating branding workshops to help clients understand their goals, priorities, voice and messaging. That information was then used to collaborate on UX design including sitemaps and wireframes.As a partner in the business I needed to understand timelines, scope and budget and work within those parameters to make the project successful for both our clients and Astir.

I managed the IT department website, administered one of the campus email servers, managed a team of 10-12 student employees that provided network support for students in the dorms, connected professor's computers to the internet and taught them how to use the web and email for the first time.

I became a web developer the day my boss told me I was going to build the website for the Civil Engineering department, and it didn't matter that I didn't know how to do it because nobody did.
