Beyond anything else, I value people using the products I build. I like the feedback, I don't like breaking things. I like improving the user experience. I _want_ people to enjoy the product.I also value a good understanding of how a business works. Who uses the product? Why is it important to them? Why are we changing it? How does the business stay in business?I also place a great deal of importance on good clean code. This means a lot of things: clean code is small and elegant; clean code has tests that clearly and reliably demonstrate what the code does; clean code is _simple_; clean code is easy to understand, and code that is easy to understand is easy to change.There are of course, lots of other things I place importance on: I always fix bugs in upstream open source projects, I always automate tasks, I deploy fully tested code to production several times a day, I fix the broken architecture, I talk to people at all levels to make it happen, I make sure I understand - and that I'm understood, I show progress.I share all of these values with the people at Featurist. That's why Josh, Adrian and I started Featurist, because we all shared the same values. Teams who share the same values, especially these ones, are very very productive.
