I have worked in software development across 2 continents for over 20 years. As a full stack developer, I felt and feel that learning a little bit about every aspect of the process makes a big difference. This eventually led me to managing a team - but I still like to get my hands dirty! These days I code mostly in Python and Typescript, though I have over 15 years experience with Java, and 4 years experience with Ruby (Particularly with rails).In the last few years, I have worked extensively in an AWS environment using Lambda, DynamoDb, S3, Cognito, OpenSearch and Redshift, with frontend work in ReactJs and Typescript.I have had a focus on security and login, where I wrote implementations of SCIM, OIDC, and SAML. I also managed testing and integrations with Azure, Okta, OneLogin and Ping.I have worked with Postgresql, MySql, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server, and worked for a number of years for a GIS company as a systems architect and engineer.In the last 3 years, I worked as a hands on Director of Engineering managing a backend team. I was to be invested in the success of each of my team members, mentoring and helping in career development. I believe that building an environment of honesty and mutual respect where we are invested in the success of our team leads to the best results.I am constantly tinkering and learning.
