Qualifying as an Architect in 1982, I designed, detailed and ran projects at a number of practices in Bristol. I also trained as a Planning Supervisor and qualified as a member of the Royal Society for Health.Moving to London in 1996 to work for LHC, setting up construction frameworks, I'm well versed in the statutory and regulatory requirements of public sector tendering. I developed LHC’s policies on Construction Health and Safety, KPI Collection and Sustainability, and have contributed to publications for the Concrete Society and Guidance to Building Regulations. I was a member of two Bsi committees and one ISO working group and was actively involved in the review and rewriting of Bsi’s Construction Prequalification Questionnaires PAS91 specification. I have also worked with CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) to encourage Clients to adopt and promote CLOCS in their construction projects to protect the safety of vulnerable road users and would very much like an MP or two to introduce a private member's bill - The Protection of Vulnerable Road Users (Construction Vehicles) Bill.In 2020 I developed LHC’s OffSite Project Integrator framework for the managed integration of all aspects of the delivery of OffSite solutions for housing.I last served LHC as its Head Consultant, continuously reviewing the impacts of legislation, standards and guidance on LHC’s activities, representing LHC at professional and trade events and offering bespoke guidance to LHC staff and Clients.I retired from LHC at the end of November 2021 after 25 years of service to the organisation, but I'm sure I'll keep in touch with the industry, offering my little gems of wisdom in some capacity or other.
