Tim is a member of the firm’s Financial Services practice. He specializes in corporate insurance, transactional and regulatory matters, as well as consumer protection-related matters. Tim has experience advising on all aspects of activity in the insurance industry. This includes but not limited to advising on the formation of insurers, obtaining federal and provincial regulatory approvals, governance matters, market conduct and compliance requirements. Tim works with a broad range of public and private sector clients in the property and casualty, life and reinsurance sectors of the insurance industry. His work regularly involves drafting and negotiating reinsurance, distribution and other specialized agreements germane to the sector, developing policy wordings, and advising on reinsurance and self-insured, risk retention and captive strategies.Tim also has experience in governance and board related matters relating to not-for-profit and charity organizations. He regularly advises and provides strategic advice to help clients stay in compliance with the complex regulatory regimes that apply to not-for-profit and charitable organizations.
