I was headhunted for the position of General Manager for Corporate Sales at Annodata, working mainly from Manchester. This position was created for me to start up the Northern sales team, and ultimately assist with growing this part of the business, and expanding the client base into and throughout the North. This role involved extensive travel between the Manchester and Birmingham offices at first, and I later moved to managing the team from the office in Bury.I was instrumental in the recruitment of good sales staff, which is key in managing any successful sales team and meeting targets. This ultimately ensured that we helped to build the business, and included doubling machine placement. As a team we more than doubled the size of the client base, including the introduction of higher profile clients. I was part of the management buy out team which bought the technology part of the business from Dudley UK Limited. The business was ultimately sold to a buy and build business which increased turnover to over £150 million, it was later sold in 2006 for £182 million.I am experienced in both sales and staff management, sales marketing, procurement of stock, recruitment/retention of staff and key account management. The business was a Category A dealer for Canon which consistently achieved their levels of purchasing.
