A creative and passionate award-winning communications and PR professional with 30 years'​ experience in the European manufacturing industry. After three years promoting stainless steels in a marketing role, I moved to Ebbw Vale where I worked for five years on a £1million nationwide consumer PR campaign to promote the environmental credentials of steel packaging. Another move, this time to Rotherham, led me to become Marketing Manager for a range of ‘Special Strip’ businesses across Europe as part of the newly formed Corus. In 2000, I moved back to Wales to Llanwern where I took up the role of Automotive Communications lead for Corus across Europe. Five years later (2005), I took up my present role as Head of Communications for Tata Steel in Wales, leading internal communications for the Port Talbot and Llanwern sites, and community liaison, political and media affairs for all sites in Wales. This period has included the migration to the Tata brand, and award-winning communications for a multi-year change programme for the South Wales hub, which employs 4000 people and has a turnover of some £2billion.My role now also encompasses responsibility for Internal communications across five additional businesses (Tubes, Colors, Cogent, Packaging & Plating) with sites across the UK, France, Netherlands, Sweden and Canada.
