My leadership skills started at a very young age, which included being a member of several organizations within my community. I started my career in broadcasting at the age of 15 working at local radio station WMMC in Marshall, Illinois. At the age of 19, I was elected as a member of the Marshall City Council. As one of the youngest Council members in the State of Illinois, I held the position for 14 years. During this time, I was able to work with State and local leaders, manage the City budget, as well as serve as the Chairman of the Employee Relations Committee. In addition, I have successfully created and operated a mobile DJ service, Sanders’ Sound Machine, for over 22 years. Owning my own business has provided me opportunities to network and entertain thousands across the Wabash Valley.
