Tim Schultz is a Director in the Merck Manufacturing Division Strategy and Portfolio Management Office (PMO). There, in support of the PMO, he is responsible for assisting in the creation, execution, and realization of the Divisional Strategy in alignment with our company's Strategic Framework.In his tenure at Merck, Tim has supported the manufacture of numerous vaccines, biologics, and sterile pharmaceuticals—both commercial products, as well as products within Merck’s pipeline. From 2000-2006, Tim served as a subject matter expert on filter and container closure validation, supporting MMD’s Bio/Sterile Validation group. In that role, he was part of multiple teams associated with facility startups, validation assessments, regulatory submissions, and product launches as well as continuing support for in-line products. In 2006, Tim transitioned to Global Pharmaceutical Commercialization—Operations. There, he supported and led teams associated with manufacturing Drug Product for Merck’s sterile pipeline products in Phase I, II, and III clinical trials. In that setting, he also championed demonstrating the effectiveness of implementing single-use technology as a means to maximize facility use and capabilities for Drug Product formulation and aseptic filling.From 2018-2024, Tim served as an Associate Director in Merck Manufacturing Division's Global Science & Technology Services Center of Excellence. There, he supported the global sterile manufacturing network as it relates to Drug Product Primary Packaging Components.Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master of Business Administration degree in Strategic Management.
