IMAGEM MUSIC - the world’s largest independent music publisher created in January 2008 through the acquisition of divested companies from Universal following their acquisition of BMG. The group included Boosey & Hawkes and Rodgers & Hammerstein.Managing Director of Imagem Music & Board member of the Imagem group. January 2008 – Nov 2011Full P&L responsibility for the UK business with a £15million annual turnover. Responsible for the creative direction of the company with overall decision making on new talent and catalogue acquisition. Liaison with the worldwide network of sub-publishers and responsible for driving global business forward. Direct responsibility for the American creative team and creative policy with the team reporting to me until a US President was recruited.Additional achievements included:• The setting up of the company from inception in the UK including staffing, systems implementation, business affairs procedures and collection society registrations.• Project managed the transferal of data across from Universal into Imagem systems and oversaw the creation of Imagem’s copyright & royalty system.• Oversaw every aspect of the Business Affairs department including contract negotiations, re-negotiations, sample clearance, licensing, policy, new media & digital licensing.• Devised and implemented several strategy plans to increase revenues from the catalogues including a program of re-records of key songs for synch usage and song placement.• Responsible for the creation and content management of company website and the online policy for social media sites including Facebook, Twitter & YouTube.• Managed an active roster of over 70 acts and writers including 30 new signings from 2008 – 2011 including the acquisition of the Phil Collins & Genesis catalogue in deals worth over €20 million and several other high profile catalogue acquisitions.

ZOMBA MUSIC PUBLISHING / BMG MUSIC – a privately owned business that grew to become the largest independent music company in the world with annual revenues exceeding $1billion. Bought by BMG in November 2002.General Manager April 1998 – December 2007Responsible for the creative direction of the UK publishing business. I also held an A&R role for Jive Records working closely on the big US pop releases for the likes of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys & Justin Timberlake. I was also responsible for running Zomba Management which was the successful producer management division of the business. Additional achievements included:• The integration of the Zomba Music business into BMG after the acquisition in 2002. I established Zomba as a successful boutique publisher within the larger BMG Corporation establishing a creative policy that enabled the two companies to co-exist.• Following the sale of BMG to Universal Music Publishing in 2007 I was appointed Hold Separate Manager and was responsible for preparing a selection of companies for divestiture as part of the European Commission directive. I continued to run these companies up until their sale and reported to Baker Tilly who were the monitoring trustees appointed by Universal.• Part of the management team tasked with preparing the Information Memorandum for the sale of the divested companies. This involved liaising with the senior management at Universal including their legal and financial advisors to assist in preparing the information needed for the online data room as part of the due diligence process. I was also a key member of the team who gave the management presentations to prospective purchasers.
