Invasive Species Manager And ConsultantAlien Species Control, Llc May 2011 - PresentAnchorageOn behalf of public, non-profit, and private clients, strategically manage ecologically harmful, non-native invasive plants in the Anchorage area and beyond through various manual, mechanical, preventative, and herbicide control techniques. Public education and volunteer recruitment are major elements of the work we do for the Anchorage Park Foundation and Anchorage Parks and Recreation Department. In 2012, more than 600 volunteers contributed over 1,500 hours to removing harmful invasive species from Anchorage Parks. I chair the inter-agency Anchorage Cooperative Weed Management Area comprised of local, state, and federal agencies, local non-profits, Cooperative Extension, and university research departments. I served on the board of the statewide invasive species governing body (Alaska Committee for Noxious and Invasive Plant Management) from November 2011 to November 2014 (Chair 2013, Vice-Chair 2014).

I recruited, trained, and scheduled 80 community volunteers who read twice per week during lunch for four weeks and inspired local boys to get excited about reading.
