I am part of the laser spectroscopy group in the Super Heavy Elements-department, where I am helping to develop and characterize a new gas cell to test laser ionization in different gas conditions.

- In this role I am responsible for a group of 25 students and 4 teachers during exam preparation courses. I teach for approximately 4 hours per day, focussing on motivating and interacting with students. Besides teaching, I coach the assistant teachers in developing themselves and in how they can help students get the most out of themselves.- For this role I attended a 7-month training course of approximately 4 hours/week. This training focussed on presentation skills and managing a team and was fully individual. This means I got extensive personal feedback and a lot of opportunities to work on my strengths and weaknesses.

I coached groups of 5 students during exam preparation courses in Mathematics A. The goal of this coaching was to help a student through, among other techniques, Socrative dialogue, so that in the end they could answer the exam question by themselves. I collaborated in a team with 4 other colleagues to manage groups of approximately 25 students. This was done through intensive individual attention and feedback, both towards students and colleagues.

I wrote articles covering academic news, student life and activities at the University of Groningen on a freelance basis.My article about students stealing at the grocery store self checkout got over 150,000 page views and my article about the accessibility of university buildings initiated discussion about the topic at the university.I suggested ideas, maintained contact with involved parties and submitted articles. These articles were reviewed by a professional editiorial office. Through feedback I have been able to further develop my personal writing style.
