St John has a group responsible for delivering community supporting and commercial services which ultimately help finance the emergency ambulance operations. Within this group is a team responsible for innovation. Our job was to fill the innovation funnel, validate potential opportunities and implement new commercial products and services. My role was to implement the innovation process and then lead the projects developing the new products. We worked on half a dozen new products, launching one with two others in their final MVP stage before I handed back the leadership.

As a member of the research & design team I took on a number of roles as we developed new products and services for the business. This included product design, product owner, product manager and a member of the product strategy team. New products included a custom built SaaS product, a communication IoT device and a number of interrelated phone apps. A broad R&D process based on lean start-up principles was developed during my time, which had me interviewing customers, across Australia and the US, to validate our ideas, prototypes and initial products.

I helped Blackhawk increase their customer intimacy in product design while also reducing any risks of technology complexity and customer apathy.

Vigil, initially a New Zealand start-up, had a vision to drastically improve the lives of elderly in their own homes. As head of design I was responsible for the customer experience of the hardware and software platforms. With a small team, I worked with their partner St John and many, many cups of tea with our elderly community across New Zealand. The products included a physical IoT based medical alarm, a wearable panic button, a SaaS onboarding and configuration platform and a social carer app.

Tranzsoft Group is a leading developer of software technology designed to improve business. Solutions offered by Tranzsoft are focused on increasing business efficiencies while lowering the cost of doing business, decreasing manual intervention and errors, and automation of workflow. Tranzsoft's clients include: NZ Police, Corporate Express, Auckland District Health Board, Smith & Nephew Healthcare, Baxter Healthcare, Biolab, Custom Fleet, Johnson & Johnson Medical, 3M, Snell Packaging & Safety, healthAlliance.I provide customer technology, project management and marketing services to Tranzsoft.

RedWeta was a startup company looking to change the world. The value proposition was to create a utility based technology infrastructure for SMEs - one that 'did not' require consultants and associated fees. The product was great, the team where enthusiastic, the timing was a little bit off.

Managment of all IT including the ERP, Call Centre and Project/Time Management systems.Major Achievements· Managed the change to outsource all IT support and administration. This improved the availability of critical applications and reduced reactive outages.· Sponsored and lead a $150,000 project to develop and implement an innovative customer online portal. This resulted in a $200,000 cost saving in year one and assisted the increase in client revenues by $3 million.· Identified, initiated and lead a $270,000 project, involving 6 people over 18 months to implement a globally available server based computing environment for 45 production applications. The achieved goal was to provide a consistent level service for all applications regardless of people's location, reduce capital costs by $200,000 per year, reduce operational costs by $1 million per year, and provide a secure globally available platform to allow for company growth.
