As a commercial strategist, I have grown teams and revenues throughout Europe. I now specialise in helping startups take the next stage in their sales growth.Process CreationIt is essential to have the right processes in place to grow. We’ve designed the CRM system for multiple businesses, both from scratch and working from existing data. We can advise on which platform best suits your needs. We can put together the internal playbook, so as your sales team grows, the onboarding process is as easy as possible. And don’t forget working out how your sales funnel will look, so forecasting becomes second nature.UK Market EntryHaving worked with startups scaling into new ecosystems all over Europe, we know what it takes to get going in an unfamiliar market. For international startups looking at London, and the UK in general, costs can be huge. We can scout the potential market for you; we can put together your event strategy; and we can even start recruiting senior or junior positions. And you won’t have to commit to hiring a costly sales director before you’re sure you’re ready.PartnershipsWith a long history of finding the right partnerships for both startups and corporates, we can help you take that next step through strategic collaborations. We know our corporate network and we know what they’re looking for in the startups they want to work with. But it’s also about making sure that the partnership is right for you. We’ll get you in front of the right people and guide you throughout the process.Coachingif there’s one thing that never changes in sales, it’s that things are always changing. Whether your team is new or experienced, coaching is never a bad idea. With ongoing support available, or workshops on specific topics such as face to face pitching, lead sourcing, or the relating b2b sales to consumer behaviour, we can ensure your team is always striving to improve. My background includes experience at some of Europe's largest media firms, and more recently as a startup strategist and advisor. I have worked with FastTrack VC on European Commission funded projects for Startup Europe, including Startup Lighthouse and Diatomic, and lead TNW's partnerships growth in the UK. Personal ProjectSockformation Jan 2008 - PresentLondon, England, United Kingdomsockformation was initially a music blog, written primarily by me but often with guest writers as well.Achievements of the site include topping the Most Popular chart on blog aggregator Hype Machine, and featuring in The Guardian's Blog Jam series: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2012/jun/12/blog-jam-sockformationAlthough the site itself is currently on hiatus, it has led on to new and exciting ventures, all of which are loosely run under the sockformation name:Blogging: my music writing has also appeared in The Guardian (online and The Guide), Sabotage Times, London in Stereo and more.Band Management: I managed North London four-piece Native Birds, prior to their break up due to a member moving abroad. I was involved in the release of their debut EP, the special edition of which sold out within minutes. They appeared on music websites around the world; performed at venues such as Dublin Castle, The Amersham Arms, Downstairs at The Kings Head, Star of Kings, various in-stores and many more; and in 2014 they played the Headline Stage of Crouch End Festival. Gig Promotion: in conjunction with Gold Sounds, we ran our first all-dayer event in January 2014 - Idaho. Bands performing included Playlounge, Radstewart, Doe, The Orielles, Finish Flag and Feature. The first event sold out two weeks in advance, and as of the end of 2015 we have run a further two all-dayers and one charity event under the Idaho brand. In 2020 we ran a sold out comeback, headlined by Lazy Day and Cheerbleederz, which the venue simply described as "wow" in the post event email summary.Event Management: Crouch End Record Club was a free event that encouraged people to bring their long neglected vinyl collection to the pub and play records for others. Positioned as far away as possible from the sometimes elitist attitude associated with vinyl, the night went on to include live music and theme nights. -
