Dr. Tim Coley is a higher education leader and management consultant with extensive experience facilitating transformational change in the college and university setting. Tim has served as a consultant and project leader since 2009; previously, he worked for 26 years in higher education, serving as Vice President for Student Services at Pfeiffer University and Director of Housing at the University of South Carolina. As a consultant, Dr. Coley provides guidance and support to colleges and universities in applying best practices for leveraging technology to support the successful execution of institutional strategic goals and objectives for enrollment management, student success, academic effectiveness, and administrative efficiencies. Key areas include improving institutional performance and organizational effectiveness through planning, governance, communication, and change leadership strategies. Dr. Coley’s professional mission, first as a university leader and continuing as a consultant, is based on the core belief that higher education makes the world a better place, both for students and for the societies they serve. Tim was a first-generation college student, and his personal experiences as a student inspired his drive to gain expertise in areas of student success, persistence, and retention. Dr. Coley strives to create and maintain long-term trusting relationships with his clients. He is committed to continuous learning, to understanding current issues in higher education, and to contributing insightful thought leadership to higher education.
