Specializing in the training, consulting, and implementation of Banner for integration of student records information at higher education institutions, maximizing the flexibility of the Banner Series. Interfacing with client administration, programming and technical staff, in matters of conversion, to ensure a smooth transition to Banner Student. Providing hands-on training of the Banner Student system to all team members and selected staff. Consulting with institutions on policy and procedural matters to ensure maximum results from their new student system. Working closely with the Business Process Analysis process in the preparation for client implementation of Banner. Building rules, populating tables, and making recommendations on SureFire Banner implementations. Reviewing procedures with long-term SunGard Higher Education clients to ensure maximum usage of Banner capabilities after system upgrades. Developing presentations and training materials as needed for clients with specialized needs. Writing documentation and procedure guides in conjunction with or for clients. Troubleshooting when a Banner process is not working properly at a client site, finding the problem, and offering solutions.

Primary computer and BANNER support person for entire campus. This entailed thorough knowledge of Board of Regent’s and institutional policy. Prepared various reports needed by Board of Regents and various reporting agencies for statistical reporting purposes. I coordinated SIRS (Student Information Reporting System) submission each semester. IWorked with various departments to find resolutions to problems related to BANNER usage or items that could not be handled by BANNER. This required analyzing the problem and determining if a program could resolve the problem. Created and wrote programs as needed. Managed new BANNER releases and insured that end users thoroughly tested programs before they were released to the production environment. This included the debugging of programs, acted as Backup DBA and assisted with the installation of BANNER upgrades to the system. One of the primary persons involved in the implementation of BANNER Web. Responsibilities included the training of faculty and end users on the BANNER system.

Developed new and modified existing programs based on detailed specifications. Assisted in the testing of these programs with end users, explained procedural changes to end-users when programs were created or modified. Researched reported program problems and recommended solutions. Self-trained as necessary by reviewing programs and reference manuals. Worked with user department heads to determine sources of problems and develop solutions. Major projects include the conversion of Heritage system database for Alumni department to Banner System and Y2K preparedness.
