Solving a system of magnetohydronamic equations developed from the plasma continuity and momentum balances for deuterium and carbon, in order to predict the plasma rotation velocities in DIII-D. The effects of an asymmetric geometry on the viscous components of the poloidal and toroidal momentum balances is being investigated, to determine whether it can improve predictions over traditional, symmetric, “circular” plasma models. Derivations and coding are being performed using Mathematica, Python, Matlab, and Fortran 90

Modeled the neutronics of National Ignition Facility shots using the MCNP and Mercury monte-carlo codes. Assessed the effects that asymmetries in the mass distribution would have on the measurable neutron fluxes at detector locations.

Work on improving the detection efficiency for ultratrace levels of Cesium-137 using a Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS). Developed methods of running samples on Porous Ion Emitters (PIEs).
