My work provided data to engineering and purchasing personal that could be used when working with suppliers to improve their processes.Preformed ISIR’s (Initial Sample Inspection Reports). The ISIR’s were used as supporting documentation with a PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).Initiated and preformed Gage R&R’s. The Gage R&R’s provided proof of the reproducibility and the repeatability of gages used in the inspection department. Documentation was used when working with suppliers and customers to insure the accuracy of FEMA’s measuring instruments and processes.

The implementation and maintenance of the Kanban systems improved work flow, prevented overproduction, improved responsiveness for changes in demand, and contributed to lowering overhead costs.Analyzed errors in production processes by interviewing operators, observing processes, and reviewing procedures. Results of the analysis were used in formulating corrective actions.

Being trained on all the 10 assembly lines provided for a flexible lean manufacturing environment.Evaluated and preformed preventive maintenance on all assembly equipment operated. Having the ability to evaluate and perform maintenance allowed for a lean technician staff that was able to be delegated to diagnosis of equipment failures. Preformed quality inspection steps to ensure that assembled parts met the customer’s expectations. As an operator I was the last person view the product before it was shipped to the customer. This provided me with responsibility for the quality of finished products. It also allowed for detection of faulty processes.
