Developed and implemented trona (soda ash) dissolving and pumping process, facilitating +500K tpy soda ash production from saturated solution at 50% of traditional ore production cost. Managed design and construction of $22M ore, materials and personnel hoisting shaft. Led Tg Soda Ash Acquisition Team.

Managed EH&S for 7 plants and 2 mines, comprising +1,300 employees. Responsible for MSHA and environmental compliance. Managed 12 direct reports. Managed on-site medical clinic, comprising a doctor and 2 fulltime nurses. Managed Worker's Compensation and Loss Control programs, reducing annual premiums by +$1M. Initiated JSA's (Job Safety Analysis) for all plant and mine positions. Successfully implemented Behavior Based Safety process, reducing injury rates by +50%.

Managed mining, crushing and heap leach operations for an open pit gold and silver operation, producing +75M tpy, supplying high-grade ore to the mill and low-grade ore to heap leach pads. Managed 54 production, maintenance, engineering and heap leach personnel, including 9 salaried direct reports. Managed implementation of short and long-term mine plans for 3 pits, as well contract stripping operations. Responsible for budgeting, capital justification and associated funding procurement. Reduced mining cost by 10%. Implemented HPO (High Performance Organization) concepts. Responsible for EH&S, environmental compliance and neighbor relations. Accelerated production, completing mining 2 years early, and commenced with site remediation and reclamation.

Managed multiple mining sections, production and maintenance crews. Responsible for crew safety and achieving production and cost targets. Responsible for ventilation, ground control, drilling and blasting, equipment moves and maintaining plan sequence. Developed pillar sections, as well as mainline entries and longwall gateroads.

Responsible for all engineering functions in an underground +6M tpy soda ash (trona) mine. Primary accomplishments include: complete ventilation study increasing effective air from 50% to +80%, extensive rock mechanics study, resulting in sustainable longwall panel and development design, design and construction of 20K gpm mine-wide pumping system, underground crusher installation, design and implementation of 50K ton underground ore storage bunker, design and construction of underground shop and warehouse.
